I saw half of the Collective playing on a street in Victoria the Saturday before last Christmas -- two marimbas and an amazing drummer! Tossed 'em a Twonie, bought their CD, and was even more amazed by the full ensemble than I had been by the street performance I'd seen. I can't wait to catch them at a live performance, soon, and many more in the future.

Dear Wassabi Collective My name is Sean Mulligan. I am a student at UVIC. I have a group of 12 students together who are currently undertaking a non-profit fundraising campaign. We are planning to do an international aid project in Cambodia with the HOPE International Development Agency. I was wondering if you may be interested in playing at Felicita’s on Friday or the weekend of March 21st, as a fundraising gig. Some situation I'm sure can be worked between us in regards to money, because we want the event to be worth your while. David Tillson at Felicita's has already given us the go ahead for March 22. The WS have a good following around town, and are a great dancing band. With heavy promotions around town and campus on our part, I’m sure we could fill the place up! March 22 also happens to be World Water Day, which is perfect because our team plans to build water wells in Cambodia. We greatly appreciate your time and help with this matter. I love your band and hope that you will able to fit this into your schedule. This is a non-profit charity event, which will benefit the students involved, as well people of Cambodia. Thanks for your consideration of our proposal, and I look forward to your response. Sean Mulligan mull44@uvic.ca 721-9944
